Loosen up
This is a blog that I'm treating like an old-school blog.
In many ways, the internet of my teenage years is a failed dream. I miss it! So much! But AI slop and SEO and the great capitalist machine has eaten most of it.
One of the things I miss is just wittering online, with maybe a handful of people reading it to find out how I'm doing. Social Media kind of destroyed that community--it used to just be a handful of online nerds, but then social media came along, everyone got addicted, and all sorts of issues cropped up. Like having people from all different groups (work! old friends! new friends! random hobby group!) following you, so you can't slip in and out of different ways of being. Instead you just kind of wind up posting holiday pictures.
Also... everything is trying to sell you something now.
Anyway, the new internet sucks. I shake my fist at a cloud.
